Corporate influence modelling

In these examples we see about a third of the full model (left) and an extrapolated model showing the issues that relate to client confidentiality

Application

The way in which the component parts of an organisation inter-react and influence one another cannot be seen from a structure or even process chart.  Our graphic holistic modelling technique is a way of obtaining that understanding efficiently and relatively quickly and can prove to be invaluable when it is undertaken prior to any major change or initiative.

Our process

The technique has two phases:

The first phase is to create a high-level graphic model of the key interdependencies and influences in the organisation.  This is typically done in one or more workshops, which serve the dual purpose of combining multiple views (as no one person has the full picture) and achieving wide buy-in to the results.

The second phase makes full use of the power of the model to track back the influences and interdependencies that attach to any node of the model - the organisation’s key goals, major functions and business drivers, intangible assets, significant weaknesses and risks, using that insight to influence a wide range of corporate activities.

The two stages are illustrated opposite.
